b'and if its good work, I could continue doing it. If I wanted to do something else, thered be an opportunity to change. I guess God was reminding me of that aspect of my vocation story when my brothers asked me to take on this work. Until now, Bro. Ed has served in education throughout 40 years as a vowed Marianist, ministering at the high school, college, and province-wide levels. All of which can be traced to his initial Yes to the Marianists. I dont think Id have been a principal of a Catholic high school or worked at a university if I hadnt joined the Marianists, he said. Although Bro. Ed hasnt had any formal role in formation ministry, he sees formation as prominent in each of his ministries along the way. I do believe that all the work Ive done has been formation in some form, he said. Bro. Ed began his ministry at DaytonsChaminade Julienne Catholic High School,a Marianist-sponsored school, as a chemistry teacher before adding the role of campus minister. In those roles, he was teaching and mentoring studentsi.e., formationwhether inside or outside the classroom. After earning a masters degree in private school administration atUniversity of San Francisco, he returned to Chaminade Julienne as director of faculty and staff development. I was working with new teachers, helping them get acclimated to the school and making sure they were getting off to a good start; I consider that formation work, too, said Bro. Ed, who ultimately became principal at Chaminade Julienne. At the college level, hes served at University of Dayton and Chaminade University in Hawaii.
