Each year, the Marianist Family recognizes brothers and priests celebrating milestone anniversaries of their first profession of vows in the Society of Mary. Marianist priests are also honored on the anniversaries of their ordinations.
This year, there are 38 jubilarians who have served from 25 years to 75 years throughout the Province for a total of 2,030 years of religious life and ministry! Read a list of the jubilarians.
|Fr. Oscar Vasquez (Chaminade Community, St. Louis) is celebrating 25 years of profession. He is the youngest jubilarian this year. “One of the exciting things about being a Marianist is that we live in community and devote our lives to the service of God’s people,” writes Fr. Oscar. “Also, I have been very happy to be a part of the educational endeavors of our Province. The Society of Mary has given me many opportunities.”|
|Bro. Kenneth Jung (Curé of Ars, St. Louis) is celebrating 70 years of profession. He is the oldest jubilarian. Bro. Ken is a working brother known for his beekeeping. At one time, he tended more than 20 hives – each of which housed approximately 60,000 bees! Bro. Ken is also known for his cooking skills, especially his prize-winning baking—including, of course, “honey treats.”|
From April to August, the Province honors all of the jubilarians during special celebrations and receptions. Beginning in April, individual jubilarians will be featured in brief portraits in FamilyOnline.
Congratulations to our 2012 jubilarians! Thank you for your many years of service to the Marianist Family and continued blessings in your ministries.
