Consecrated Life

What do we mean by “consecrated life”?

In the Catholic Church, consecrated life is described as “a stable form of living by which the faithful, following Christ more closely under the action of the Holy Spirit, are totally dedicated to God.”

If you know a religious brother, priest or sister, you know someone living a consecrated life. Marianist consecrated life embraces Mary’s model of discipleship as a means of bringing Christ to the world.

This series of videos may help you understand the special gifts of consecrated life as lived by Marianists and other religious. The videos were produced by the University of Dayton, a Marianist university in Dayton, Ohio.
