Greetings from Cape May Point and all of the Marianists here!

We are in the middle of the 8th summer family week and so far each and every week has been filled with many graces. The 6th week of the program was a special week entitled “Deepening our Marianist Spirituality.” This week was designed for families who have been here fro several family retreats and are seeking to learn more deeply how to incorporate Marianist Spirituality into their daily lives. While the general schedule of the retreat remained the same, the presentations, discussions, teen activities dove more deeply into Marianist Spirituality.

We are grateful to Mike and Diane Capone who, along with several other Marianist Associates, developed and led the retreat. Together with several of our young adult and teen staff volunteers brought, they combined creativity with a Marianist message that all of the families appreciated and thoroughly enjoyed.

On a sadder note, this week our Center, the Marianist Associates and entire Marianist Family celebrate the life of Marie Moyer who passed away. Like Jean Canning, who passed away in April, Marie is one of those people (a mom, a friend, a Marianist Associate) who truly embodied what this place is all about – loving & supporting family. Marie and her gentle way will be missed by all.

JESSICA AND FOOCH HIT THE ROAD
This coming Sept. 9, Jessica and Fooch will be traveling to Dayton to, among other things, gather families together who have made a Marianist Family Retreat. Our time together will include a shared potluck dinner, a presentation by Carol Ramey of the North American Center for Marianist Studies, and a fun family game, of course.

Our primary goal is to introduce families from the same geographic area, who have the common experience of a Marianist family retreat, so that they can share their experiences, socialize and hopefully form lasting relationships within the Marianist Family. If you are from the Dayton area I hope you can join us!

***Notice*** Due to special circumstances we must cancel the Thanksgiving Family Retreat for 2005. Sorry for any inconvenience.
