The Marianists have a number of talented artists. The work of Bros. Mel Meyer and A. Brian Zampier is featured at the Marianist Galleries on the campus of St. John Vianney High School in St. Louis. The gallery specializes in contemporary works of art and is a showcase of two- and three-dimensional art in many media. The Marianist Galleries is one the largest private collections of religious and contemporary art in the United States.
For more than 20 years, Gallery Saint John in Dayton, Ohio, has exhibited art by members of the Society of Mary and their local area colleagues. The gallery is operated by Bros. Joseph Barrish, John Lemker, Donald Smith and Charles Wanda.
In San Antonio, Bro. Cletus Behlmann directs the St. Mary’s University Art Center. His website, Cletus Art, features many of his acclaimed works. Bro. Cletus’ art is a ”celebration of life” from the wonders of nature to the wonders of God’s redemption. Essentially a religious artist, Cletus wants the beholder to discover the relationship and ultimate unity between religion and life.
