Art Galleries

The Marianists have a number of talented artists. Bros. Mel Meyer and A. Brian Zampier operate the Marianist Galleries on the campus of St. John Vianney High School in St. Louis. The gallery specializes in exhibiting contemporary works of art and is a showcase of two and three dimensional art in many media. The Marianist Galleries is one the largest private collections of religious and contemporary art in the United States.

Since its opening in December 1989, Gallery Saint John has been showing art works done by the members of the Society of Mary and their acquaintances in the Dayton, Ohio, community. The gallery is currently operated by Bros. Joseph Barrish, John Lemker, Donald Smith and Charles Wanda.

In San Antonio, Bro. Cletus Behlmann directs the St. Mary’s University Art Center. His website, Cletus Art, features many of his acclaimed works. Bro. Cletus’ art is a ”celebration of life” from the wonders of nature to the wonders of God’s redemption. Essentially a religious artist, Cletus wants the beholder to discover the relationship and ultimate unity between religion and life.
