| SPAM® MUSUBI
Ingredients:
•
1 can of Spam® luncheon meat (cut into eight slices)
• 1/2 cup soy sauce
• 1 tsp sugar
• 1 tsp garlic powder
• 2 eggs, beaten
• 4 sheets of sushi nori (seaweed), cut into halves for a total of eight
• 1 can nori komi furikake
• 2 cups medium grain rice, cooked
Steps:
1. Cook the rice
2. Mix soy sauce, sugar, garlic powder in a bowl to create marinate for
Spam™
3. Soak Spam® slices in marinate
4. Beat the eggs, pour in oiled pan, cook until brown on both sides
5. Cut the eggs into rectangular shapes, the same size as Spam® slices
6. In oiled pan, cook the Spam® until brown on both sides
7. When rice is cooked, but still warm, pour 1/3 can of nori komi furikake
into rice bowl and mix well
7. Place musubi maker (you can buy these in Hawai'i) over the end of
a half-sheet of sushi nori.
8. Place a scoop of rice in the musubi maker and flatten.
9. Place a piece of egg, followed by a piece of Spam® on top of the
rice
10. Place another scoop of rice above the egg and Spam® layer and
flatten
11. Remove musubi maker and roll the entire piece into the shape of a
rectangular brick.
12. Slide length-wise into four separate pieces. Repeat process 7 more
times; makes 32 pieces.
