The New
Year is a time for self-reflection and visioning of what is ahead. The
North American Center for Marianist Studies (NACMS) offers the following
virtual learning community courses (Prayer, Community, and Education)
as you ponder and map your year. The virtual learning community (vlc)
might be that which you seek for enrichment at the start of 2009.
The goals of the vlc are twofold: 1) to explore Marianist concepts and 2)
to build community through reflection and interaction on course content.
The courses listed below begin on Sunday, January 11, and end on
Saturday, February 14. Registration for the courses ends on Wednesday,
January 7.

Prayer
Explore various "methods" or practices of prayer,
including both individual and group prayer. Notice how the Spirit of God
is always at work, everywhere, including in our own hearts.

$40.)
Community
Enhance your ability to form community in the Marianist
spirit as you learn about the roots, expression, and unique
characteristics of Marianist communities.

This course was created specifically for Marianist Educators
(staff, faculty, administration). Discover how to ground the
characteristics of a Marianist education in the Marianist charism and
more deeply align your own educational philosophy with the philosophy and
pedagogy of Marianist education.
