Little by little…. formation

Dear friends,

Now that the rush of Christmas and New Year is over you have more time to relax and…read my letter! I usually write a letter in French at Christmas and a New Year newsletter for my English speaking friends. Now it’s your turn.

I would like to share with you some significant events that happened during the year 2005.
As you probably know, I am in Haiti since October 2003 and in October 2004 we were a community of 3 members: Brother Hervé from France, Brother Stanislas from Togo and myself.

On January 17, we opened an aspirancy program with 6 candidates. These young men are now 4 and they will start their novitiate on January 15, 2006.
Then on October 16, we welcomed a second group of 5 aspirants. They are following an inter-congregation program with 5 other congregations of men and women.
In the beginning of October, we rented a second house to accommodate the novitiate community. Brother Hervé will ne the Novice Master.

Along with the formation work, we accompany the Marianist Lay Communities (MLC) and we are spreading the Movement of Faustino. In October, we had the visit of our Superior General, Father Dave Fleming. His presence has been a great encouragement for us.

The year 2005 has been a year of blessing for us. We have no doubt the year 2006 will be the same. I hope the year 2006 will be for you a year of Peace and Joy. May you be open to the many signs of God’s LOVE for each one of you. And let Mary help you do this.

With love and prayer

Florian
