KATRINA MEANS CLEANSING

Without vision the people perish. Without vision who knows what to do?

My vision is of God’s way prevailing. God taught us to pray “that the kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.” One part of that vision is Jesus saying “I’ve come to serve not to be served” & “Learn from me for I am meek and humble of heart and you’ll find rest for your souls.” I would ask those who are involved to step down who are not of this mind set or not seeking it.

Part 2 of that vision is: God creating us in his image and likeness. God’s image he shares with us is that his, knowing himself, is a person too and the perfect image of his substance. Their loving each other is a person also, The Holy Spirit. And they are relational.

Part of human beings being “created in his image and likeness” is that the family is relational also – the husband knowing and loving his wife and she her husband, conceives a child who abides with them as an equal, in dignity as a person. I see the child basking in the glory of the father even as we sing in the Gloria of the Mass “with the Holy Spirit in the glory of God the Father.”

The wellness of the community depends in mirroring this concern for the child who will go on to form another family. Doing this is coming to serve not to be served, that the child too may mirror “Learn from me for I am meek and humble of heart and you’ll find rest for your souls.” Yes, to rest in perpetual loving service is kingdom-living and is "the kingdom coming on earth as it is in heaven.”

Living out this vision is serving love; not being like the priest and Levite who walk right by the hurting man. Help to rescue the child to have a normal life. Focus on serving him or her! She is your main concern. What is for her benefit is what our vision needs to see, find and embrace.

The enemy’s vision is to destroy God’s work. Therefore, inclinations to short-circuit God’s vision of wholesome family life needs to be resisted. This will promote “The seed the farmer plants to grow up to a full harvest.”
