We’re dreaming of . . . Summer 2005
Plans are being finalized for the 2005 summer program, and detailed information should be available on the center’s website by mid-December. Brochures will be mailed right after Christmas. The theme for this summer’s program is “God the Builder.” The first week will begin on Sunday, June 12, and Week 12 concludes on Friday, September 2. There will also be two weeks in early fall (Sept. 11-16 and Oct. 2-7) designed for families that are home schooling. Applications for the summer programs will be accepted beginning on February 1.

Thanks for a wonderful Thanksgiving work weekend
Eight families and three individuals spent all or part of their Thanksgiving vacation at the center. After the traditional Thursday Turkey feast, we got to work caulking, priming and painting the new building; straightening up the sand box; mapping the electricity; shoring up shingles on the roofs; stuffing Holiday appeal envelopes; organizing the chapel and program room; breathing new life into our tired computers; and a variety of other tasks. Thanks for all their hard work to: Chris Bonham; Lea, Paulo, Daniel, Andre and Rebecca Chiquito; Eileen, Gus, Helen and Bernadette DeBerri; Greg Egan; Emelina, George, and Emily Marsh (and Emily’s friend Hannah); Rosemary, Steve, Briana and Matthew McLaughlin; Greta, Jim, Ryan, Shane, Joshua and Christa Morris; Tanya, Jim, Kristina and Nicholas Rupp; and Tom Sheridan.

November at the center
The center hosted the final Emmaus “walk” of the year Nov. 4-7. This was the 42nd such retreat that Costal Carolina Emmaus has sponsored since 1999, and all have been held at our center. . . . Seven couples from the First Wesleyan Church made a retreat Nov. 12-14. . . . The Diocese of Raleigh Hispanic Cursillo sponsored a retreat Nov. 18-21.

Please pray for . . .
Jim Rider who is recovering well at home from a stroke and pacemaker implant surgery. . . . Joyce O’Toole who is also recovering from surgery. . . . and John and Margie McQuade, Bro. Ray’s brother and sister-in-law, in their continuing recuperation from illness.
