South Bernard 2While the weather and leaves change here in Philadelphia informing us that autumn has definitely arrived, we are curious to hear about the change you have experienced over the past couple of months. If you attended a Marianist LIFE program this past summer, we would like to hear: a) how you changed as a result of your experience, or b) how your Home MLC (Marianist LIFE Community) has changed thus far during the academic year as a result of the summer program.

Please email us a (one page maximum) reflection on the changes you've encountered, and you will have the chance to win $250.00 for your local LIFE program's budget. This gift can be used for whatever best meets the needs of your community (e.g. guest speaker, program supplies, leadership training, faith formation, summer program support, etc.). The more students and moderators from your high school or parish that write us, the better your chances of being awarded the $250.00 for your LIFE program. The winner/institution's name will be drawn randomly out of a hat during Mid-LIFE 2009. Please email your submission to marianistlife@sm-usa.org by December 10, 2008.

South Moderators 2008Speaking of Mid-LIFE, our next national gathering is quickly approaching the weekend of January 29 - February 1, 2009. The deadline for Adult Moderators to register is December 10, 2008. We have an exciting weekend planned at the Marianist Retreat & Conference Center in Eureka, MO. Our time will include keynote presentations, sharing of best practices, faith formation, and networking. We will also spend some time touring St. Louis, the Provincial Offices, and a Marianist high school. For more information about Mid-LIFE 2009, please click here.

Central Trust Walk 2Does your Marianist LIFE Community ever seem lost or searching for ideas? Our website has once again been updated with some of the latest resources, meeting ideas, and prayer services for you and your communities to use throughout the year. We will continue to add more resources as long as moderators and students keep sending them our way! To access this valuable information:

  1. Go to our webpage: www.marianist.com/life
  2. Click on "MLC Resources" in the bottom right corner
  3. Type in username "marianistlife"
  4. Type in password "chaminade" (try it a 2nd time in case it doesn't process the first time)
  5. Enjoy the shared resources

REMINDER: The institution that sends us the most resources by May 1, 2009 will win a free student scholarship (valued at $475.00) for the 2009 summer LIFE program. Please email materials to marianistlife@sm-usa.org. Keep them coming so our Online Resource Bank remains fresh with new ideas and resources to benefit everyone!

Pacific PriestsOn behalf of Marianist LIFE, we want to thank all of the moderators, coordinating team members, young adult assistants, and support staff who made our 2008 summer programs possible. Without you, the program would cease to exist. Thanks for all you do with and for our young people and Marianist LIFE.

A special Thank You also goes out to the many Marianist vowed religious (Brothers and Sisters) who support our program with their presence, prayers, and infinite wisdom. We are very grateful to all of you!

South Student Paper GroupAttention Adults: you may have noticed a few extra emails in your Inbox lately. Some may have come from MLNNA, MSJC, or the Province Office of Communications.

Since moderators are consistently asking for more resources and information, we figured we would help you out and offer you the various communication outlets available in the Marianist family.

Please know that you always have the option to unsubscribe to individual electronic newsletters if you choose not to receive them.

Peace to you and your communities.
