From the Adele Social Justice Project (ASJP):
The Adele Social Justice Project is holding an immersion weekend in Washington D.C., primarily for young adults (age 22+) in the Washington D.C./Baltimore region. Space is available for more participants on the weekend to be held at the William-Penn House on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. on Oct. 6 to Oct. 8, 2006. If you know of young adults who have been invited to the immersion, please encourage them to return their registration forms as soon as possible. If you know of any young adults in that region who should be invited, please let us know.
The ASJP Urban Immersion weekend will bring together local young adults (within an hour commute of the D.C. metro area) and provide an opportunity to reflect on experiences with injustice through the lens of the Marianist Charism. We hope that many of the weekend participants will be interested in building an ongoing community after the immersion. We also will provide opportunities for participants to continue to connect with the Marianist Social Justice Collaborative (MSJC) and the broader Marianist Family.
Information and registration forms can be downloaded from the ASJP link on
the Marianist Social Justice Collaborative (MSJC) website: http://www.msjc.net/AdeleSocialJustice/
Forms can be returned to or recommendations made to any of the following: asjplibertore@yahoo.com,
jimvogt2@yahoo.com, apsjustice@hotmail.com or (ph.) 859-291-6197, (fax) 859-291-4742.
We also hope to invite a few young adults from other regions who might be able
to provide some leadership and enthusiasm to bring the ASJP immersion project
back to young adults and the Marianist family in their area. These will be
by special invitation from the ASJP steering committee and D.C. planning team.
If you think your region might have the resources to host an ASJP immersion
and a number of young adults eager for such a weekend of justice and community
building, please review our criteria for hosting form available at the ASJP
website and let us (above) know so we can have a conversation! Thanks.
