Virtual Learning Community
"Praxis": The Combination of Theory and Action

It often is rewarding to take a broader look at life, including Marianist life. Day-to-day living is enriched by a deeper picture of "why" and "how."

To assist you in this process, the North American Center for Marianist Studies (NACMS) is offering virtual learning communities (vlc) for the spring and summer. (See below for course descriptions.)

The goals of virtual learning communities (vlc) are twofold:

1) to learn Marianist history and 2) to build community through reflection and interaction on course content.

Spring Courses

Registration is now open for spring courses. The last day to register for spring is Wednesday, March 26. Each five-week vlc course runs from Sunday, March 30, to Saturday, May 3.

Enhance your ability to form community in the Marianist spirit as you learn about the roots, expressions, and unique characteristics of Marianist communities.

Marianist Studies: Justice

Envision social change from a Marianist perspective through integrating Chaminade's insights about responding to the world's needs with the realities of modern life.

Marianist Studies: Leadership

Discover a leadership style that is purposeful, developmental, adaptive, collaborative, and transformative in connection with the Marianist tradition.

Summer Courses: Save the Date

Marianist Studies: Charism

How Do I Register?

To register, visit http://vlc.udayton.edu
, and when asked for the diocese to which you belong, instead, insert the word "Marianist" in the "Diocese" registration field. Remember, registration for spring vlc courses closes Wednesday, March 26. Class size will be limited to 12 participants, and the course fee is $40. Basic computer skills are required, and it is important for participants to keep up with course content.
