2013 Assembly moved to 2014

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
As you are aware, the Marianist Lay Network of North America (MLNNA) hosts a Continental Assembly approximately every three years. This year, our approach has been to design a “Delegate” Assembly, whereby we would involve and encourage participation by lay Marianists attending on behalf of their communities. The Assembly was scheduled to take place outside of Philadelphia, in July.
Regretfully, a number of unforeseen circumstances have arisen that make it prudent for the leadership team to postpone the Assembly to 2014.
As a “community of communities,” MLNNA’s signature event is the assembly, gathering Marianist laity from across the continent and beyond. As a Delegate Assembly, our expectation is that representatives of communities from all over North America would attend and articulate the interests, ideas, and concerns of their communities. A benefit of postponing this year’s Assembly is that your leadership team will have additional time to solicit important input from communities, and other key stakeholders, and provide meaningful information to delegates, about the purpose and goals of the Assembly. This in turn will provide communities the opportunity to realize and discuss their hopes and dreams for the future of the “community of communities” being the Marianist laity in North America.
On behalf of the entire MLNNA leadership team, and all involved in the planning of the Assembly, we appreciate your patience and understanding, and call for your partnership. We look forward to an exceptional gathering in 2014, and we hope you share our enthusiasm for the potential that can come from strengthening our love of the Marianist charism, and gathering together to share our personal and communal experiences of living that charism, today and into the future.
Looking to 2014, we will continue to be in contact with you asking for input, sharing important details, thoughts and discussion points for your consideration.
May the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit be glorified in all places through the Immaculate Virgin Mary.
Faithfully Yours in Christ,
Rudy Reyes, Jr.
